In an effort to promote good governance in the municipality, the current local administration adheres to transparency and accountability as one of its guiding principles. The same practice brought honors to Orion. The Municipality of Orion was awarded the “Seal of Good Housekeeping” by the Department of the Interior and Local Government complying with the Full Disclosure Policy (FDP) of the DILG. “We are much honored to receive this Seal of Good Housekeeping Award. This is a confirmation that we are on the right track in pursuing our goal following some fundamental principles in good governance like transparency and accountability. With this recognition we will be more inspired to continuously provide our residents with good governance,” Mayor Jose “Pepe” S. Santos said. As an SGH national awardee, Orion was one of the LGUs in Region III prioritized to be given local government support fund in the amount of P800,000 intended to procure needed medical equipment for our rural health center. This is in line with our 8-point agenda included in the P.S. MARANGAL, specifically the letter R of MARANGAL which means RURAL HEALTH NA KUMPLETO SA PASILIDAD AT SERBISYONG MAASAHAN. Orion was among the many LGUs chosen for the award because of compliance to the full disclosure policy. LGUs can really make wonders, imagine the impact of 45,000 plus barangays, 1500 city/municipalities and almost 80 provinces comprising the local government complying FDP. Who says ridding of graft and corruption in the Philippines is impossible? |
